All applicants who have demonstrated their eligibility and language skills will be invited to the entrance examinations. Invitations will be send in the middle of March. It is not possible to be accepted without taking an entrance exam. We participate in an entrance exam co-operation network in the Degree Programmes in International Business and Tourism, i.e. we will accept entrance exams completed in the same entrance exam group in a different University of Applied Sciences. If you have applied for more than one preference within the same entrance exam group you will only receive one invitation to an entrance examination of your first/highest preference for which you have achieved a sufficient amount of points during the initial selection process. In the Degree Programme in Sports and Leisure Management entrance exams arranged by other UAS will not be accepted. Those invited to take the entrance exams will receive a written invitation with detailed information. In the Degree Programme in International Business and Degree Programme in Tourism the entrance examination will include for example a reading comprehension task, writing tests, logical thinking, mathematical exercises and an interview. Also a language test is included. Examination samples are not available. Applicants can prepare themselves by reading texts concerning the field of study. There will be pre-reading material for the entrance exam for Degree Programme in International Business. The pre-reading material will be published here by the end of February 2010. In the Degree Programme in Sports and Leisure Management the entrance exam will include an evaluation of your motor skills, an interview, written tests and a demonstration of your instruction skills during a coaching session. The entrance exam will only be arranged in Kajaani and other exam results will not be accepted.

For the Degree Programme in Sports and Leisure Management only the entrance exam arranged in Kajaani will be accepted.
For the Degree Programme in International Business and Degree Programme in Tourism it will be possible to attend the entrance exam also abroad in the following countries: - China - Hungary - India - Kenya - Latvia - Poland - Russia - Vietnam Entrance examinations abroad will be arranged in mid-April. It may also be possible to arrange the entrance exam in co-operation with local Embassies for example. Please contact the Admissions Office to check
The applicants’ language skills will be evaluated in the language test included in the entrance examination on a pass/ fail basis. An applicant who has failed the language test is withdrawn from admission. An applicant can be exempted from the language test, if he or she has provided certificate of his or her language skills to the first-choice UAS by the end of the application period.
