Studies in a Finnish university of applied sciences provide graduates with a higher education degree qualification and practical professional skills. Degree programmes vary in duration between 210 and 240 credits according to the field of study and take 3.5 - 4 years to complete. A student’s annual workload of 1,600 hours is worth 60 credits (cr). The Finnish credit system is compatible with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), and the transparency of degrees has been improved by the introduction of the Diploma Supplement (DS). Studying in a Finnish UAS is free of charge, there are no tuition fees at the moment. The students will have to pay for their study materials, books, accommodation and other living costs themselves.
